The Venue:
Following a rebrand. The newly named Evolution London (previously Battersea Evolution) stands as a vibrant beacon in the heart of London’s Battersea Park. Designed to be an events power house in the capital. This purpose-built space is a dynamic venue. The perfect blank canvas that marries state of the art production with unrivalled flexibility. Created for large scale bookings. It took on a remodel in autumn 2019. Now fully equipped for televised events and ‘in the round’ events.
Alongside caterers Smart Hospitality and technical group Hawthorn. This venue provides a first class service for some of the biggest events in the UK.
With an epic collection of table centres, it’s no surprise to read that we are called upon to dress the tables of many of the larger scale events here in the UK. When these bookings cross sales, it’s a safe bet to say that a percentage of those take place at Evolution London. As a result, our team are well versed in the ways of this venue. You could even go as far as to say they are experts when it comes to dressing Evolution London. Bit of brag potentially? Mash Media | Display Case Centrepieces | March 22nd 2019
The Client: Mash Media is one of the largest media companies in the UK. With a portfolio that covers every sector of the industry. Specialising in Exhibitions, their cornerstone event is the EPS Show, this year held at the ExCeL London. Mash Media are a long-term partner of ours. Working with them annually on their shows, plus working closely with them at the Event Production Show.
The Centrepiece: Looking for sponsorship to their event at Evolution London, they approached us to look at centrepieces for their tables. The key here, to showcase our latest design at this event- giving us a unique opportunity to advertise to the upper echelons of the event industry. Here at Table Art, we have new designs realised almost weekly. However the Display Case Centrepiece is something our MD wanted to be particularly put forward. With the approval of Mash Media, we proceeded with the Display Case. Adding a star motif to the main body and adding our branding to the lid.
The Event: The Exhibition News Awards (ENAs) took over Evolution London, Battersea Park. Celebrating achievements within the UK and global exhibition industry. The team arrived onsite early for the rehearsals. Giving the AV company ample opportunity to sync our lights with their production design. The overall effect of our DMX system is astonishing, partnering beautifully with the set design. A great way to highlight the winners as they are announced. An evening not soon forgotten. It is a thrill to see our centrepieces feature so heavily across social media.
Smart Group Ltd | Tall Crystal Globes | March 23rd 2019
The Client: The Smart Group is an umbrella for a collection of hospitality, catering and event management businesses. Comprising of Smart Christmas Parties, Smart Live, Smart Hospitality, Smart Sport, Moving Venue and Smart Venues. Smart Group are the sole in-house caterers for Evolution London. We have had the pleasure of working alongside them across the better half of London.
The Centrepiece: The Godfather of Centrepieces. One of the original design concepts by MD Gary Martin. The Tall Crystal Globe is instantly recognised with its elegant acrylic stand and crystallised sphere. A popular choice across a great many events here in the UK and Globally. iI’s a design revered by the events industry.
The Event: We had the honour of dressing the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards with our Table Art thanks to the booking by Smart. A gloriously vibrant event that celebrates the small businesses of the UK in all their fantastic achievements. Another awards show that utilized the DMX system. Highlighting award winners as they are announced. A real sense of anticipation is created as the tables sparked when the name is announced and then suddenly, flights flash!
Brook Green DMC | Mini British Collection | March 25th 2019
The Client: One of Britain’s most inventive Destination Management Companies. Their aim? Making sure their clients have the most memorable and rewarding experiences. Our first opportunity to work with Brook Green. We relished the chance, especially with a ‘Best of British’ theme to their event.
The Centrepiece: When it comes to a ‘Best of British’ theme, we have a wealth of options to put forward to a client. From our Union Jack Mirror Ball design to our Mini British Range, we have it all. The later option, the Mini British range that caught the eye of our client. Encompassing some of the great icons of the British Isles. The range includes a London Eye, Tower Bridge, Union Jack, Telephone box and Big Ben.
The Event: Warehouse Manager Robert Adams led this particular event. Working alongside event operative Kevin Cooper. On a crisp spring day, the guys drove south and made their way to one of their favourite venues. One of the biggest benefits of working at Evolution London is the ease of access. Nothing worse than arriving at a venue with a flight of stairs you have to tackle with heavy cases. Evolution London is an absolute breeze. Park by the load in doors and roll the cases direct into the room. As an event planner, access for suppliers might not be first on the priority list but its well worth some thought. Easy access means quicker set up and essentially- less stress! Anyway, I digress. The team set out the mix of designs across the tables. They lit them in the aptly chosen red, blue and white hues. The event went without a hitch, just after midnight when the guys headed back North.
Corporate Events | Bespoke Publican Awards Design | March 12th 2019
The Client: Corporate Events are a fully integrated agency that handles every aspect of events. All production, logistics, audio/visual requirements, event management, technical support, set build & creative design services. Kerry Owen of Corporate events that got in touch with a bespoke brief, looking to dress the tables a little differently at the Publican Awards.
The Centrepiece: When a client requests a bespoke design, this is the point when MD Gary Martin takes charge. Gary is a man that likes to chat so first step is to call Kerry and discuss the ideas. Then phone down and it is onto sketching out some options, bearing in mind all the concepts that Kerry and her team had proposed. Once he is happy with a selection of three, its passed onto the sales team who work on a proposal to fire across to the client. That step by step process followed to a tea in this instance. Once Kerry proposed the sketches to her client, the chosen design went through to production.
The Event: Following a busy couple of weeks in production, the custom design for the Publican Awards released from the studio. Featuring an acrylic outline of a bar pump, the usual label for the brand replaced by a Publican Awards Logo. Double sided, these beauties looked great from every angle. Often with these custom options we offer a storage option with our clients so they can use their centrepiece year on year.
Principal Global | Star Cluster | November 23rd 2019
The Client: A global leader in the events business, Principal Global aim to deliver extraordinary events. From a statement venue, cutting-edge travel incentives or someone to manage your event- they cover it all. When September rolls around, you can always expect a call from Charlotte and her team at Principal GE. Looking to make plans for their upcoming Winter Events. No exception on this 2019 event. With Charlotte setting a brief that included the same Lily Vases she had in previous years but with the addition of stars.
The Centrepiece: Having previously in 2018 used our Film Reel Lily Vase design, Charlotte keen to use those same vases as they worked so well on the lazy Suzan’s the event utilizes. However this year, the theme chosen featured stars so we set to task creating a star design that would work well. Having fallen in love with our Star Globe, we looked to downscale the Globe so it would fit with the vases and the Star Cluster came to life!
The Event: With the Clusters being a solid orb, and with the client needing over 100 of these- it is a logistical challenge that Table Art are happy to tackle. There is a simple solution. All the clusters are to be packed safely in our largest flight cases and we brought into larger vans to transport the centres down south. The install itself is simple, with the lazy Susan’s in place- the crew just carefully placed the lily vases centrally and topped them with a cluster. I think you can agree that with the addition of the star cloth. The overall look? Sleek and modern.
Park Publishing | Windsor Candelabras and Ritz Lamps | December 5th 2019
The Client: Park Publishing are one our most loyal partners and are an exceptional event agency that deliver the most prestigious of events. From fabulously themed charity galas for some of the biggest names in British Business, to football tournaments at the most exclusive clubs. Park Publishing can deliver it all. December is a busy time for all but that is especially true of the Park Publishing team who work tirelessly through the month hosting charity events. This particular event for John Lewis in December can certainly be described as the climax.
The Centrepiece: With such a esteemed client, Park Publishing asked for a unique and innovative centrepiece. MD Gary worked closely with team lead Viv Keating to produce the Ritz Lamps and Windsor Candelabras. This decadent mix chosen in gold hues to light Evolution London and I think you can agree from the images. The overall effect is spectacular.
The Event: As the event featured a new selection of designs, we utilized the production team. Taking advantage of that same knowledge that created the centres, it’s always best to send the same team so they can easily install the new centrepieces. Technical Designer Andy Rawlings led the team on this one and ran the DMX Lights from a lighting desk. With our new DMX Lights, we now have a specific amber tone that gives you the perfect Gold light. Exactly what Park Publishing hoped for. We love a happy client!
Wilmington Healthcare | Summit Centrepiece | November 6th 2019
The Client: Primarily Table Art work with event agencies but on occasion, we get to work direct with a client. Certainly the case here when Wilmington Healthcare got in touch about their event. Firstly, what do Wilmington healthcare do? Well as you can probably guess, they work within the NHS. Specifically working with DATA. Hosting awards evening for worthy healthcare workers across the UK, this group hosts three events annually. All of which we have the honour of styling. Sheena Patel Events Manager works closely with our sales team year on year to make every event bigger and better!
The Centrepiece: Often on a Wilmington Event there is a distinct theme that we look to follow. However for this event at Evolution Battersea- Sheena wanted a clean and modern centre to dress the tables. Following a proposal that featured over 12 designs, Sheena opted for our angular Summit Centrepiece. A popular choice for 2019!
The Event: The final event for Wilmington for 2019, one not to be forgotten. The even is the culmination of a year of hard work and the heroes of the NHS are duly celebrated. Our Summit centrepieces added to the proceedings, with DMX being run by the onsite AV Team. Lights flashed manically as the audience clapped and went onto a disco effect as guests took to the dancefloor.

With the Covid Crisis, we aren’t certain as to when we will return to Evolution London. What we can be certain of is that the events industry will recover and we will be back at Evolution dressing events as we have done for years.
