Art Deco Twenties Event Styling at The Grosvenor House

All That Jazz: Art Deco Styling at Grosvenor House

From branded columns to gold palms, discover how we brought twenties glamour to a late-night afterparty.

There are few themes as timeless and glamorous as an Art Deco twenties event, and when paired with an iconic London venue, the result is nothing short of spectacular. At the end of 2025, Table Art had the pleasure of delivering bespoke event styling for a stunning afterparty at Grosvenor House, transforming the space into a bold celebration of 1920s elegance with a modern twist.

“I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.”

Setting the Scene: A Bold Art Deco Entrance

Branded Columns in Classic Twenties Style

Lining the entranceway were six bespoke branded columns, creating a dramatic and immersive arrival for guests. These columns featured a black background with bold gold linework, inspired by classic 1920s typography and geometric design.

Not only did the columns reinforce the Art Deco theme, but they also served as a strong branding opportunity, seamlessly blending the client’s identity with the overall event aesthetic. Positioned symmetrically, they guided guests into the space and instantly set the tone for the evening ahead — sophisticated, theatrical and unapologetically glamorous.

Art Deco Panelling:

Structure, Style and Impact

Standing at 2.4m high and 1.2m wide, the panelling was used to frame both the bar breakout area and a nearby seating zone. Designed in a matching black and gold aesthetic, the panels added architectural interest while anchoring the space visually.

Behind the bar, the panelling created a striking backdrop that elevated the drinks service area into a true focal point. In the seating area, it helped zone the room, giving guests a sense of intimacy within a larger event environment — a key consideration when styling corporate afterparties.

This combination of height, structure and detail is why Art Deco panelling remains one of our most requested pieces for themed events.

Statement Features: Balloons, Neon and Palms

‘All That Jazz’ Balloon Wall

One of the most photographed features of the night was an organic balloon wall, designed in a rich palette of black and gold balloons with pearl accents. To complete the look, a custom neon sign reading “All That Jazz” was installed at the centre — a playful nod to the era’s music, nightlife and cultural energy.

The combination of soft organic shapes with bold neon typography created a modern contrast against the Art Deco theme, making it ideal for social moments, photography and guest interaction.

Gold Palm Trees for Walkways and Entrances

Who doesn't love a bit of gold?

To soften the structured geometry of the décor, we incorporated gold palm trees, positioning them along walkways and door entrances throughout the venue. These sculptural pieces added height, texture and a subtle sense of movement, guiding guests through the space while reinforcing the luxurious twenties aesthetic.

Behind the Scenes:

Late Nights and Creative Commitment

Events like this don’t come together without dedication behind the scenes. For this Grosvenor House afterparty, father-and-son team Gary and Fred were on hand to deliver, install and manage the styling elements throughout the event.

Given the late-night nature of the afterparty, it was essential they had somewhere nearby to rest once the setup was complete and guests danced into the early hours. Feeling adventurous, we opted for a sleeping pod in Piccadilly Circus — snug might be an understatement.

While Gary wasn’t entirely sold on the experience, Fred fully embraced it, adding another memorable chapter to an already unforgettable event. It’s this level of commitment, flexibility and humour that underpins every Table Art project.
