Black & Gold Confetti Balloons @ The Birmingham Hilton Metropole
Following it’s popularity in 2019, our Exploding Confetti Balloons continue to be a favorite among event agencies. Roebuck Productions selected these creations for a Gala at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole. Get in touch for a free consultation.
As a result of pairing a black balloon with a gold tail, this sophisticated look proved to be the perfect accessory to the Papa John’s 2020 Gala ‘Going for Gold’. As awards were announced, balloons popped and showered the Winners in Gold Confetti.
Importantly, The Birmingham Hilton Metropole played host to the proceedings. The Monarch Suite was the ideal space for the event. With chandeliers lit beautifully in hues of gold, purple and blue, this was a glorious backdrop to our black Confetti Balloons.
This was our first coloured balloon choice from a client and we have to say, the results really do look spectacular! In a similar vein, this was the first occasion that we added a balloon garland tail. The gold cascade of metallic material was a fabulous addition- catching the light beautifully. In short, we are taking these balloons to the next level, allowing clients to pick any colour combination!

Stylish Results
Certainly, with the Awards Season truly upon us, it’s no surprise that the ‘Gold’ look is so sorely sought after. Sometimes it’s easy to get carried away with a colour and just go gold for everything! Take a different approach and use it to accessorize the event. Subtle colour notes throughout the event can produce a sophisticated look. Above all, it prevents your chosen colour becoming overpowering and tacky. It is so easy to go overboard, subtly is the way to go!
For instance, Roebuck Productions shared our vision for a subtle approach to the gold theme. They chose to go for a polished black balloon filled with Gold Confetti and accessorized with a metallic tail. In the same vein, they chose black linen cloths and chair covers, highlighted with gold chair sashes and confetti balloons.

The Installation
To clarify, unlike the vast majority of our table centres, the Exploding Confetti Balloon are a time consuming install. It is vital that every balloon is wired up correctly. That each balloon has the correct ratio of Air/ Helium. That every DMX unit is numbered and addressed. With all of these factors to consider, we average out a 5 minute installation for every balloon. Therefore, it’s important to allow sufficient time in your set up time schedule.
If you are fancying these at your next event… and why wouldn’t you?! Above all, consider carefully the install time. If the event space isn’t suitable for an early arrival, our team can happily work in an adjacent room. As a result, they would simply walk the centrepieces into the room when the event space is ready. For example, that was the case on this particular event. The Monarch Suit was being used for both the day conference and evening Gala. No problem for the Roebuck Team who kindly offered up the Norfolk Suite for us to start install.

To sum up, as popular as the Clear version of these Confetti Balloons have been, we are certain that the trend for a coloured balloon is about to take off! A great way to inject your brand colours, it has the added benefit of hiding the confetti- guaranteeing a huge surprise when they POP.
